Hi, not sure if I’ve found a potential bug or I have misunderstood the settings in Showcase but I have discovered the following:
In the ‘Large Image Output’ box in the SC ‘Output’ box, I have always kept the ‘Pass-Through’ checkbox ticked (I do the same with all my images in FW too)
I have always assumed that this over-rides the setting that was previously in there. I recently discovered that during an upload, FW was uploading a lot of .PNG files. I understand that the thumbnail images are created as PNGs but showcase had “remembered” the previous setting and output all the large images as PNGs despite the fact that the images were JPGs in the first place.
The only way I could remedy this was to go back in to the output and:
Uncheck ‘pass-through’
Set output format to ‘JPG’
Re-check "pass-through’
Low and behold SC now outputted them all as JPGs!
Is my understanding of this function wrong or do I have to make sure that the output format is set to the desired format before checking ‘pass-through?’
Seems a bit strange if I do
Cheers
Mark
