sIFR

Hello,

Just thinking it would be good to be able to use sIFR with freeway 5?

Found an old thread in Dynamo about it but seems like it only worked in 4?

Anybody got any experience/actions or advice for it at all?
Many thanks,

Ed

HI,
I have an experimental Action for this - but not much has been done with it for a while.

Anything new on the sIFR front? I got it working in Freeway 5, but the action doesn’t attach any of the CSS sheets and you end up having to do it manually. Which isn’t bad per-say, just hoping to have it Actionized since it appears to try to do so already.

I think a lot of people would use this for Freeway if a working action, was well working.

Please add me to the list of people who would like to see this as a working action for Freeway.

I have more than one project on the go which would have benefitted from using sIFR rather than graphic text.

If you do decide to do anything with the action Paul, I would be more tan willing to help test.

I figured it out without the Action. No sense in waiting around for a cool effect to be Action-ized. It really could easily be finished with where it’s at now. If I knew the lingo, and the action wasn’t encoded, I’d take a crack at it.

I’ll put a tutorial together for it, perhaps my first paid one.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the offer of creating a tutorial. I’ve also worked out how to do it manually, but just thought that the action might make it easier to add sIFR to any website for most Freeway users.

Half of the problem is creating the sIFR fonts, not everyone has Flash Pro installed (I have Flash CS4, so I managed to create my sIFR fonts no problem), so they will have to use an online service to create the fonts or even the free CoffeeCup sIFR Font Maker (http://www.coffeecup.com/sifr-font-maker) if you have Windows or VMWare Fusion/Parallels.

I’m still looking for a decent Mac implementation of CoffeeCup sIFR Font Maker for one-step creation of sIFR fonts, so if anyone knows of one then please let me know.

Take a look at FontLab 8

Seems to be what you are looking for.
