Simple slideshow/Landing page

Hi guys

new user here - please be gentle!

I’ve just purchased Pro 5 in the hope I can get my own website up and running (freelance 3D visualiser) - the software looks great and I’m getting into it.

What I’d like to do ASAP is get a landing page sorted which consists of my contact details and a simple rolling slideshow of some of my work (while I get to grips with the program and create my site).

Could anyone point me in the right direction please? I can see that there is a feature called Sequence Timer - would this be a way of doing it?

I’ve never used anything like this before although I do use Illustrator/Photoshop in my line of work - any advice would be greatly appreciated!

thanks

steve

this is the type of thing I’d like to create (unfortunately my images will not be nearly as attractive!)

added to this would be contact details (permanently on display above slideshow). This is from a tutorial on this site using something called WebYep - is this something within Freeway 5? The tutorial looks kind of advanced - I was wondering if there was an easier way?

thanks

steve

This is the easiest way to have a fading slideshow:
Go to Weaver’s website and download the fading slideshow action: http://www.coastalrugs.com/Actions/fadingslideshow.html

Install the action by dropping it on the freeway app icon in the dock.

  1. Lets’s say you have 10 pictures exported from photoshop that are 400 x 200px at 72dpi.
  2. Put them all in a folder.
  3. Create an image box on your freeway document page that is 400 x 200px.
  4. Now apply the fading slideshow action to this element.
  5. In the actions palette Uncheck the “use FW Image as image” and uncheck “use FW image as first slide”
  6. In the dropdown menu next to Image: select folder
  7. Go to the folder where you stored the images in step 2 and select the first image inside this folder. click open
  8. Back in the actions palette check the “Use all files from folder” as you will see, you can have up to 25 images in that folder.
  9. preview your site in your browser.

Hi guys

I was just wondering if there was any way to slow down the fade from one slide to the next?

thanks

Did you try adjusting the delay underneath the first two drop downs in your actions palette? I think that may slow down the length from image to image, but not drop the fade speed. That would be the only place I could think of that would be remotely controllable.

Hi Dan

yes - that adjusts the display time of each slide but not the transformation

it’s not a problem though - I’m very pleased with the results I have at the moment (and so soon!)

cheers
