The change frequency setting gives the search engine an indication of how often the page changes. It doesn’t directly reflect how often the site will be crawled but should give and indication of how active the pages are. The priority option, on the other hand, provides a way to ‘weight’ your pages and give priority to some more than others. You may consider a home page or portfolio of work page more important than a terms and conditions page for example. Again this gives the visiting search engine an indication of how important you believe these pages are within your overall site.
You can see the official site map specification here;

Tim.

Hi All… Just to confirm as the action uses 0 to 10. Lowest priority would be 0 and highest priority would be 10?
I ask as the google spec is, 1.0 (extremely important) to 0.1 (not important at all).
Kind Regards,
Dave

OK… I see the output in the xml file. It is to the standard 0.1 to 1. So for anyone else who may be interested 10 is highest priority.
