Site mapper

A couple of question about the sitemapper app.

Once the site is uploaded and I have submitted the sitemap through the action, do I only need to resubmit when the site changes i.e. has additional pages?

Also, when I do submit, Yahoo never goes through. I suspect this is a yahoo issue, but is it the same for others?

No. Once the search engine knows about your site map it should trawl
it on a regular basis looking for updates. Submitting the sitemap a
reasonable amount shouldn’t hurt but I have seen the search engines
ignoring me while I constantly pinged their server with updates while
testing the action.

I’ve seen this before once or twice as the submit page waits for a
response from the server. If this happens try submitting again just to
this search engine as it often corrects itself.

Tim.

Joe (Billings) just found this thread on the subject that suggests you
maybe should ping Google when the sitemap changes;

I guess the choice is yours.

I guess I will if there are important page additions other than that I’m happy to leave it. Thanks Tim.
