You could do this in Blogger with a Freeway template, or if you used Disqus for the comments, directly in Freeway itself. Wordpress is not doing anything exotic here.

Disqus is a 3 or 4 line JavaScript include, use the Page / HTML Markup dialog or a Markup item to add it in. I didn’t notice the store in the original site, but you could use that store system you were going on about a while back, or the built-in Freeway Shop stuff if you like.
