I need some help. I am validating a site (WC3 Validation Service) and I’m getting this error: Line 339, Column 105: there is no attribute “WMODE” …h=425 height=30 alt=“swfContainer” wmode=“transparent” style=“float:left”>
Its to do with an swf element that is on all pages, that was made with ‘Text-Osterone’ The site in question is http://www.theofficebureau.com
How have you added this element to your page? If you used the normal
“drag the Flash movie into Freeway” method, then you shouldn’t have
this issue. If you’re using a Markup Item to enter a blob of HTML,
then this is quite easy to imagine being the case.

Hi Lee,
I seem to recall this was once a Flash file and we recreated the
animation as an animated GIF which you now have on your page. Somehow
the old extended markup for the Flash file remains. Select the
animation and go to Item/ Extended and remove the wmode/transparent
entry.
The validator is complaining because the wmode property shouldn’t be
applied to images.
Regards,
Tim.
