sizing graphics

basic question - when I re-size a graphic, I seem only to be able to “fit” in a few ways, or size up or down in fixed increments, over which I have no control. Is it not possible to enter a % size so I can get graphic exactly size I want?

Try making the box the exact dimensions you want (using pixels, in the Inspector) and then Item/Graphic/Scale and Pad with Shift Option Command F. Then use Fit Box To Content (Shift Command D) to make the odd side the exact dimension needed for your image’s actual aspect ratio. If you really want the box to be a certain set of dimensions, and you don’t care about cropping the odd bit, then use the Scale and Trim command (no shortcut) just below Scale and Pad in the Item/Graphic sub-menu.
