If you use the wonderful Sketch vector app here are some nice icon sets, templates etc. http://speckyboy.com/2013/04/22/free-ui-templates-for-sketch-app/.

Thanks. Been looking at Sketch here recently as part of my “do I really need Adobe” exercise. I expect the answer is “yes - as long as there are clients” (though one of my more important clients described CC as “not good value for us”) but I like to see what the alternatives are.

I have Sketch, but I find I don’t use it as much as Artboard (my preferred Illustrator replacement).

I think Sketch is aimed more at iOS devs, and for UI design. I found it a pain, even to create relatively simple button designs. It’s more akin to Macromedia Fireworks, a combo of vector and bitmap. I found it much simpler to do the button designs in Artboard, which is a true vector program, and export them to bitmap for placing in Freeway.

My Adobe replacement programme is currently: Pages (InDesign), Preview (PDF), Pixelmator (Photoshop) and Artboard (Illustrator).

If I’m honest, none of them can replace the Adobe suite in its entirety, but it’s close enough I can use them for real work - not that I have much these days. For personal stuff, they’re fine.

Softpress, it would be very cool if you could engineer native file format support in Freeway for these up-and-coming Adobe replacements. There’s a fair chance many Freeway users are opting for the App Store software over the expensive Adobe stuff.

Cheers

Heather
