If you’re talking about adding a link in a web page, like a contact page for example, then visit the Skype site and go the Buttons page. There you can generate the necessary code with button icon to embed in a web page or in an email. You can also select a custom button that shows your online status.
I added one to my Freeway Talk profile ‘Todd’ which shows my online status and one to an email signature.
