Well - what to say? It’s a bit weird (at least with my current setup). So I perhaps have to wrap my minds about it. There is something I’m obviously doing wrong 
cause Davids’ example works.
I have to admit that I’m a huge fan of OWL-carousel.
I can’t say where exactly the differences of both products are (except OWL2 'til ages is in Beta mode) - but OWL is and was a JustWork. Perhaps Slick is even richer in features.
I’m currently on a huge “sidekick” project called “Materialize for Freeway” http://materializecss.com It’s kind of:
“Classes are the new Actions”
In Materialize, there is already a slider, but I honestly dislike it. So I substituted it by OWL. If you might want to have a look into this project, it can be found here:
