I recently discovered http://www.verticalmoon.com/, who makes some great Mac stand-alone Flash applications that are on par with the ease of Freeway. They cover things like slideshows, animated text and music players. However, two big voids are interface navigation and mixed media animation.
Anyone else wish Softpress would just develop or team up with another party to bring the Freeway work concept to Flash development? Seems this ought to be the next Softpress endeavor, especially with the company’s focus on designers over coders.
I have to say, that’d be a huge jump in a new direction. I’m not necessarily sure if the next step for Softpress is to build an entire web development army. It took them a while before getting Intaglio and that’s not even integrated much into Freeway.
Still worth looking into is your software choice, I’ve seen plenty of people use it. Too bad Swift never made it to Mac.
Because it’s from a separate company, and Softpress just sell their
stuff in their store (for a percentage) and host a forum for their
customers. If there’s an ownership stake there, I haven’t heard of it.
