Which lightbox is the softpress site using for the Sample Sites?

Hi Nathan,
The lightbox is implemented using an Action I wrote (back in 2010) and uses the original code from FancyBox (http://fancybox.net/) which in turn uses jQuery at it’s heart. I chose this as it offered the most features (chaining images into groups within the lightboxes, support for video, ajax calls etc) but most importantly the license was unrestrictive. Unfortunately with the release of FancyBox 2 the license changed and became a lot more restrictive (from my perspective) which has cast doubts on updating the Action.
I had hoped to finish the Action off and push it out for other Freeway users to use but with what appears to be a limited shelf life I’m now having second thoughts. I’d be interested in hearing other views or, for that matter, if anyone has come across other lightbox variants with suitable licensing terms.
Regards,
Tim.

Hi Tim,

haven’t recognize this yet - and yes I agree, under this terms of usage you really should have a second thought (and me too cause I used that too in the past).

On the other hand:

If spending the fee of 70+ Bucks it should be good without minding further (Uahh???)

I still wonder, why our Lightbox-Actions (both) are that limited (missing chaining images and captions). I somewhere read that the interface of the action together with the extended functions (and they exist) do not play with freeway altogether.

But is this really true? One of the most requests here on board if it comes to lightboxing and we still live in the stoneage part of this (more or less) simple standards?

Sorry - a bit of criticism I know - but …?

Cheers

Thomas
