Some pages don't care about their master

I’ve set up a website with about 100 pages with one master page. When I add or HTML mark up remove code from the master page (in the section), about 50 pages follow these changes, but the other 50 or so don’t (they all have the same master).

I thought it would be good to remove all code from the section on the master page, remove all code from the same section on the 50 pages that are not changed, and paste the code back in the master pages. Unfortunately that doesn’t help.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is there a solution to have all pages ‘back on board’ of the master page?

A quick way to get back to the master is to switch each of these pages to a blank master (you may have to make one) and then delete any elements from the master that are still hanging around, and last, switch back to the desired master.

Hi Walter,

Thanks for your suggestion and your speedy reply! I tried to do it this way, but when I changed to the new master, two page actions (from the original master, not the slave page) were still there. So I deleted them manually and went back to the original master, hoping the page actions were applied again. Unfortunately no.

An option would be to just copy all page items (no master items) to a fresh new page which is created with the master. I tried this, and it seemed to work. Will cost me half a day or so (including renaming all pages), so if you happen to know a quicker way, I’ll be all ears!

Anyway thanks for putting me in the right direction!
