Aren’t these the people who invented Blogger? Great heritage, in that
case. Prices seem reasonable, too. The only caveat is that your data
is on their servers, and you (or your client) have to be comfortable
with that idea. Probably safe as houses, given the pedigree of the
founders.

Well, can’t believe you only just found it! They have been around for quite some time but seem to be rather eclipsed by other blogging platforms. I very nearly gave up Freeway completely and moved over but I saw that I needed to know a bit more about building sites (FWY a great help here) and at the same time Squarespace was not the slick animal you see today.

No reason you can’t use both. I am all in favour of the building block approach. If it takes too long to build in FWY or it just plain doesn’t work to your satisfaction, why not bolt on a few pages generated by another platform?

In some ways that is already an approach that has been pushed by use of the Blogger action in FWY. I myself use a blog page set up in Tumblr which is rapidly becoming a mainstream platform thanks to its ease of use.

I even can’t remember right now how I came across it … but I do like the intuitive way of layout design, and the integration of CMS, CSS, and so on.
