Still confused on use of layers, combine, etc.

Despite my reading the manual over several time, experimenting with combinations of graphic item layers, “combine with kids”, grouping, etc. How graphic items look in Freeway vs. how they look in browser is totally confusing. Why is this so hard? IT NEEDS TO BE SIMPLIFIED!

If a graphics (jpeg) is in the background in a Master, and if there is a graphic item on a page that uses the Master, in front of the Master graphic, I can’t get a drop shadow to look right. Looks OK in Freeway, “blocked out” in browser. Both graphics are layered, not pass-thru. I’ve tried every combination of other options I can think of. It must not be possible to do this, although it looks like you can on page 3-8 of the Freeway Ref. manual I have.

What am I doing wrong?

If you’re layering image (not combining them) Try making the top graphic export as a PNG file - (click on the image in question, and look in the inspector palette - you will see settings to change the file format of the image upon output - change it to a PNG, and change colour setting to suit)

We have a yellow transparent PNG file hovering over other HTML items below on the page here:
