# Stopping a directory uploading

Its been a while since I have been on here.
Just wanted to check if there is a way to stop a folder uploading when uploading the rest of a site? I want to temporarily remove the directory so am not looking to delete it completely.
I was thinking that there was a way to temporarily remove a folder from the upload using an action but can’t seem to find a way.
Hopefully I am not overlooking something that is obvious!

Hi Tonzodehoo,
I don’t know of any Actions that do this.
You could use a third-party upload application (Cyberduck, Transmit, etc.) to delete the folder after uploading, or you could “upload” to a local folder (File Copy upload) and remove the unwanted folder before using a third-party application to upload the rest of the site.

Hullo Jeremy,
Many thanks for getting back to me.
I can remove the directory after upload using cyberduck which is straightforward enough. I was thinking that something similar to the ability to untick the publish option for items in the inspector panel wold have been good but I appreciate that this doesn’t exist for directories. It would have saved uploading the temporarily unwanted directories in the first place.
