strange lines to sides of objects?

Hello, I am frustrated by often seeing a pair of horizontal lines aligned with the top and bottom of an object. These lines show up in the Preview, and also show up in Safari when I view the page, but not in Netscape! I cannot seem to find a way to elimiate these lines. What is the solution??? Thanks for any help.

I have the same problem…
with the graphic boxes. whenever there is a picture…
sometimes on the preview or safari, there is a white line bellow …like there was white empty space left
where is not.

I’m curious to know if there is a solution to.

Without seeing your pages this is difficult to diagnose but if you increase the text size in the browser does it get worse?

If so then it is a case of using layered elements rather than table based. Or alternatively you can draw an HTML element around the items that break up and send it to back - this should then hold them together.

Interesting thoughts, Dave. In my case, the problem in Safari is with a menu bar. If I play with adjusting fonts larger or smaller, the problem appears and disappears in other areas of the page, but it does not affect the specific issue around the menu bar. Interestingly, Safari 1.0 does not have the problem, but 3.0 and 3.2 do. No problem with Netscape or IE.

You mentioned that layered elements could be the problem, but the menu bar is actually a table, I believe, so I have no clue. Also, I am a real novice, so am just learning Freeway. To look at the test site, go to http://cvartcenter.org/test7/ if you wish. Comments always welcome!

It may be related to the text in your menu bar (which, like the rest of the page, is all graphic). Try changing the text in the Menu Bar to HTML text and let us know what effect that has.

I see that you are an Express user - this is useful information that you should let us know when posting as it often has a bearing.
