Styles scope on text

Just a query on using styles with text, and what limits there are on what can be controlled.

I am finding that the attributes in the Text menu apply to the style OK, but from the standard Apple Fonts dialog (cmd-T) only the Family, Typeface and Size have an effect on the style - not Underline, Strikethrough, Color or Shadow.

To change the colour of the text, the text need to be actually selected first - I cannot change the colour using changes to the style settings.

(But I am finding that once the text has been converted to paths, then the styles fill and stroke attributes apply in the usual way - although I have to remove and re-apply the style to the text for this to happen.)

I suppose the main question is… is there a way to change the colour of text (that has not been converted to paths) using styles?

(This is with Intaglio 2.9.7 on OS X 10.5.2.)

Stewart.

Following on from the first message, I have just noticed that styles applied to text boxes don’t survive when the file is saved and re-opened.

i.e. I apply a style to a text box, save the file, close the file, open the file, and the text box does not have a style attached to it (i.e. “No Style”).

So maybe Styles aren’t intended to be applied to text boxes?

It looks like there are a couple bugs regarding styles associated with text blocks. I’ll look into it.
