The effect only happens on the submenu options. There’s no disclosure on the main menu unless there are submenu options – nothing happens when you mouse over the main menu options that could be altered. You may want to investigate CSS3 Animation to alter the speed with which the mouseover highlights happen in the main menu options, but that will only work on recent Firefox, WebKit (Safari, Chrome, Opera), or IE 10 browsers.
