How do you get a submenu to be the exact same width as its main menu item above it?

Try this

In the Submenu Settings section of the action interface select - Use Main Menu Settings

Now this will only look right if you have made the main menu settings wide enough to accommodate the width of the largest/longest text in the sub menu

BTW - the white text is very difficult to read against the yellow background.

Still not working for me… it’s extending about 6-8 pixels to the left (into the main menu item just to its left).

Maybe - but you have to take into account what the rest of the world sees! And a lot of them will have cheap PC monitors where colour accuracy is unknown.
