swf files in preview

I have imported a swf file into an html box. This publishes and shows when previewed in a browser and uploads correctly. However when using the freeway preview button everything below and to the right of the box with the swf file in is blanked out.

Is it me or is there a bug here? It slows down the down design process rather a lot.

I reported this as a bug some months ago - hopefully, one day, it will
be fixed, but I guess it’s a low priority issue.

I have to say I don’t see this problem; I put a SWF file into a box
on a page, put elements around the box, previewed both in Freeway and
in a browser - and it worked fine with no loss of any items on the
page.

Do you have an example online? I know it would be a working example
raher than something that shows the problem, but it might help anyway.

(In the meantime how about previewing it in a browser instead?
Command-option-B rather than command-option-P.)

It only happens in “Preview” and I’ve just checked the last couple of
sites where I used .swf files and the problem didn’t occur! My
original bug report was on an early iteration of FW5, so perhaps it
has been rectified in the latest versions - FW Pro 5.3.1 for me.

Or it may be worth checking any other Actions on the page for
conflict. Otherwise preview in the browser, though if you’ve also
made changes on other pages (especially if it’s a Master) it may take
more than a moment or two to load.

Thanks for the replies. I will try again with a new site and let you know. Meanwhile I received this from Softpress Support so I guess I am not alone.

Hi Richard,

It is a bug yes, and one that was fixed early in 5 but it seems it still happens on certain setups. We have a repeating file internally so are working on a fix.

Apologies for the inconvenience.
