I have inserted a table and want to use a percentage value for the width, but I can’t enter a percentage value. When I try to do this I get the message “invalid value”.
How can I use a percentage value for a table width?
Control-click your table, choose “Extended” from the pop up menu. Under the “table” tab create a new attribute “width” with a value of 50% (or whatever). This will over-ride the Inspector setting.
HOWEVER…
Percentage widths must be based on the item’s container. The only way I know to get a table to behave this way is to place as inline into a floating div-box. If you set that box’s width to 100%, then the table will be flexible too.
