Target/Show in a Carousel Pane

Hi,

I have a bunch of layers in a pane of a carousel. Each layer is triggered with a rollover. It works, except that it triggers the carousel to a spot between two other panes.

I have the latest version of the Carousel Action.

There is a html box with a table used for the rollovers and a second html box with a the layers of html boxes with tables. I have tried different grouping strategies, but get the same result.

I’ve used target/show with rollovers in other carousels, so what could be going on?

Thanks.

Here you go:

Go to the ReelEvents pane.

Thanks.

Okay. Here’s what’s happening. It looks like the popups are drawn as
“children” of the Carousel effect. The Action is grabbing them,
putting them inline within the rest of the options inside the Carousel
and when you click on your package link, the carousel effect is
“hijacking” the link before the rollover effect can see it.

Try viewing your page in outline form: click on the Site title over
the site map pane until it reads Page. Then click on each element of
your Target Show/Hide setup and see whether it is part of the carousel
group. If it is, then (in the Site pane) click on the item name (it
will highlight when you click on the item in the layout) and drag it
up and left in the list. Each element in the list will highlight in
turn as you drag past it, to indicate that it will accept the drop.
Keep moving until you get to the highest (left-most) point in the
hierarchy. If you’re currently here:

pricing3.html
	item4 (carousel)
		item23
		item24
		item25
		yourTargetItem

then you want to end up here:

pricing3.html
	yourTargetItem
	item4 (carousel)
		item23
		item24
		item25

That’s pretty over-simplified, but hopefully it will get you where you
need to be.

How can that work? I need the elements to show up in the pane, which is grouped with the other panes and the Carousel Action applied?

I did try what you suggest, but it simply brings those elements to the front on top of the rest of the panes and is missing from the ReelEvents pane.

Here is my structure

Pricing3.html
Carousel (no action, just a group)
rightArrow (carousel tab action)
leftArrow (carousel tab action)
Panes (panes grouped with carousel action)
pane1
pane2
pane3
ReelEventsPane
htmlBox
PackagesHTMLBox
table1
item1 (rollover action)
item2 (rollover action)
EventsPanesHTMLBox
Event1Pane (rollover action)
table6
Events2Pane (rollover action)
table7

I also tried stacking the various tables and removing them from html boxes, but got the same result.

Thanks.

You need the images that contain the triggers to stay in the carousel
pane, but the target elements can be anywhere in z-space, floating
above the rest of the page, and not contained within the carousel at
all. They will only appear when you click on or roll over their
trigger elements, anyway. It’s the target images I am asking you to
move, not the original trigger elements. You are correct that those
need to stay in their respective panes.

Pulled the trigger elements out, ungrouped all panes and carousel elements (I’ve needed to do this in the past), rebuilt and - same problem. Everything works except it slides to some in between pane.

I also tried changing the restore settings from sticky to no, but no difference.

I just built a simple carousel with 2 buttons, 2 blank panes, and a pane just like the ReelEvents pane. I even kept the trigger items in the pane. Everything works fine.

The only difference is the page that doesn’t work has Tabs as part of each pane. Could this be causing the problem?

Any other ideas that I can try outside of re-building the whole page?

Thanks.

I started looking into this yesterday, but I didn’t find the problem
yet. If you want to send me a cut-down document with just the broken
page in it, I can use that as my test-bed.
