You can add HTML text directly onto a blank Freeway 5 page, with no HTML or graphic boxes.
Click on the page, press return and start typing.
Why would Softpress add this function?
Very simple answer. Freeway 5 now, by default, automatically sets an html box to cover the entire page without any interaction. Double clicking on a blank page now gets you a flashing cusor. Pretty nifty.

Yep, it is nifty. But the pedant in me wants to point out that it
isn’t exactly the same as having a text box made automatically. It
is done to make it simpler to add in-flow content directly to the
page without requiring further container structures.
In fact, I was about to add that it wasn’t something I’d use much,
but I just realised that this could make one thing I’m doing at the
moment somewhat easier. So I won’t say that!
