Yes - like the difference between a buffalo and a bison.
You cant wash your hands in a buffalo!
(this has to be spoken and touch on some knowledge of Brommie dialect)

(And the interesting follow-up is which part of England? Even now,
with TV homogenising our spoken language, it is fair to say that
dialects still vary more across the UK than they do across the US!
Ooh-arr the noo, boyo.

if this list accepted images like the old forum did I could explain

But if I started getting unsolicited image-laden emails from here I’d
be off like a shot! Remember, a significant number of regulars
receive Freewaytalk as email posts rather than by browsing the web
site.
As you indicate, sticking something in a corner of some web space
somewhere and providing a link is the best idea.
Personally, I think this kind of thing should be done by the Forum
itself. We attach an image to a message and the forum sees it, moves
it to an image repository and then provides a link in the message
sent around to “Click here to view Attached Image” - kind of thing. A
bit more intuitive for those that would like to see screengrabs etc.
The more of a bother it is, the less likely people will actually go
any further than, saying, “Too much work…”
Like James says, somewhere central to view the odd image would be
useful
May I recommend ImageWell? You can get a free version at <http:// xtralean.com/> and get increased abilities for very little more. It
had a button you can press to ‘send’ any picture to a folder on your
site and not only that, it will put the URL, with [img] tags, on your
clipboard, so all you have to do is press ‘send’, then go to the list
and paste the URL. I use it all the time, for many other things than
just that.
Just one more thing I have just thought about - if a simple application like Imagewell ( apparently ) can connect and send by ftp - sftp - webdav - etc
Why can’t Freeway ?
I would at least like to be able to use sftp on one site I produce as it is safer yes ?
