Thumbs trigger bigger image

I don’t know quite how to explain?
I need to place some thumbs on a page aside a bigger image of the thumb. When the visitor hoovers with his mouse over the image . the bigger image should change accordingly.
I believe I managed to make that in the past but I totally forgot how it is done.

Any suggestions please?

Johny - I think you mean something like this;

If so, try this:

1 - For your main images, import the first one into a graphic box and
give it the Action Target Show/Hide Layer and set the parameters to
Initially: Hidden, Restore: Sticky, Effect: Fade. I use a Duration of
0.8, but you can experiment to find what you prefer. Leave the Target
Group at Indigo and set the Target #: 1.

2 - Duplicate this image in the same position, double click on it to
bring up the Graphic dialog and locate the next image (re-scaling if
necessary). change the Target # to 2. Repeat for each new image,
incrementing the Target # each time, to build a stack of main images.

3 - For the thumbnail images, import into graphic boxes and give each
the Rollover Action setting the parameters for Click: Item and Target

to match the main image Target#.

For a short cut, you can duplicate the first thumbnail the number of
times you need - spaced at regular intervals - and then double click
on each to locate a new image and change the Target#.

(You can also make thumbnails individually by copying and resizing/
resampling the main image before you apply the Action).

Once you are happy with your page you should be able to duplicate it
and just change the pictures for the next gallery. Use the Site Panel
to select each layer and go to the Item Menu - Modify - Locate, to
change the main images. Just double click on the thumbnails to do the
same.

It all worked out fine  the only thing is that there is no initial image visible? One has to move over a thumb first.
Is there a way to make an image visible when people open the page?

Duplicate one of your images and place it at the bottom of the
stack ,but don’t apply any Action, You can move an image to the back
from the Item menu or by dragging it upwards (illogical, I know) in
the Site Panel. Alternatively you could insert a decorated frame into
which the pictures would appear.

I haven’t tried tried this, but in theory, if you duplicated the whole
stack, removed the Target/Show Layer Action and replaced it with
Random Image Action, you’d get a different base image every time the
web site was loaded. It’s always worth experimenting - not everything
is in the manual! (And if you try it, let us know if it works).

I placed a image at the bottom of the stack and did not apply any action to it.
The problem is that not all of the images in the stack are in landscape, some of them are in portrait, making the bottom image visable on both sides of that image, and I dont want that.
How can I solve this ? It is driving me crazy, I tried everything I can think of the whole afternoon !?!

The way around this problem is to make all of your picture boxes square. Then set the background color of the picture boxes to white (or whatever matches your page). Freeway will cheerfully scale and pad the image to center within the square (Shift-Option-Command-F), so unless you need to also crop the images, you should be set. Each image, regardless of aspect, will properly cover all beneath it.
