tinymce version 4 or 3

As part of an installation of webyep I had thought I might as well get the most up to date version of tinymce (Version 4) to install in the opt folder.
It didn’t work.
The other version 3.58 works fine.
Has anyone else come across this? Is it a server issue.
The support from tinymce itself is limited to the documentation and I can’t see anything which mentions any issue.

Does version 4 Tinymce work with wepyep at all?

No it doesn’t.
I made that mistake a while back and I had some emails backwards and forwards with Max and he mentioned it doesn’t work.
Stick with the previous version.

Thanks for the quick response Trev.

I guess the question is will it be able to work with it in the near future as it does offer a significant number of additional features from what I understand.

Just noticed that my original message is gone but that there are two versions of your reply Trev. Rather curious?

As an addition to this I have installed CKeditor to see how this fares. I’ll need to do a bit or research to see which is the most comprehensive editor.

Hi all I do have a version of webyep that works with tinymce4 although its not official.
I also wont be recommending tinymce as the primary (richtext editor) choice once the next Freeway specific webyep is launched because that’s going to use redactor… which will already be payed for (so no licence) installed and configured… but if someone is desperate for the tinymce4 version then email me directly

Hello max - have you got any idea of when the next version of freeway webyeb will be launched? Very much looking forward to it.

Hi Noel the new look is a quite a huge task not only has the look of the system been drastically changed but its functionality has changed to. The redactor has already been implemented by I am a long way off before the system can be tested by third party beta testers.

SO far…

  1. all the editor windows have been designed and artwork up
  2. all the icons have been created
  3. the popup windows have been converted to modal windows although you can specifiy popups within a new config file
  4. the initial login window has been created and is working correctly
  5. Redactor has been tested and is working within the original WebYep system
  6. TinyMCE4 has been implemented for those who wish to use TinyMCE

whats left to do:

Everything else and there is loads… including all the html and css for every editor window except for the longin. Help menus and the writing of the Spanish translation for the webyep system… ifcat there is tons!!

I expect this will be 6 months of work at least… but I will be giving freeway webyep users sneak previews as it goes along so look out for them.

speak soon max

Hullo Max,

I know there is a bit of a time lag here but if there was a version of webyep which did work with tinymce 4 then I would be interested to try it.

Hope all is well with you.
