Hi, and thanks in advance for your advice. I’ve got a site I created and have been up-dating with Go-Live for a long time and I’m wondering if there would be any benefit in switching to Freeway 5.0? I’m using OSX 4.11 and upgrading to use Freeway 5.5 is just not within my budget as I would have to replace too much software to go to Leopard.
The site is pretty large now with a Hodge-Podge of formats, loads of graphics and a considerable number of pages. The site is…http://resinrealm.net
I wouldn’t rate your site only in the aspect of “what software to use”, it’s an issue of “what do you want to achieve” in rethinking and redesigning - that’s what could be the primary step.
By walking through your page, it’s nearly impossible to navigate - it’s more a click back and further and stuff like that - a cluster of independend pages.
You have such nice stuff to sell, the american history of cars to rebuild, that you should maybe go a step further like installing a tiny eshop like mal’s or ecwid - all things I’m sure Freeway, whatever Version Number, would help you.
So not to do: Keeping Design as it is.
To do: Redesign
To do: Try if Freeway 5.42 is running on your system
purchase it, push your business to earn the money to later maybe upgrade on whatever.
From the architectal standpoint, I build my sites using webyep, will mean, that I only build a rough in Freeway and insert content in the browser. There I can even add new pages that, clever thought are always linked to the existing ones. Using Max`s Action suite is that easy and this could be really a smart way to rebuilt your site without any stress. That’s something I advice from the deep of my heart.
The Realm started out as an information site to help model car builders. I added the sales portion when I became disabled and needed to make a little extra money to cover medical expenses and help with bills.
I would like to redesign it so it all makes sense and Freeway looks like a fun program as well as a practical one for that task.
Again, thanks for your response. It is appreciated
