Transparent text box

Thanks Keith…I probably figured out that method from a posting on this site…maybe even by you.

Check out the sample page again, http://frontrangeweb.com/sample.html

The red area is a graphic box with text.
I just sketched a graphic, over the picture, added the text, selected the background color and set the transparency to 50%, the picture below on the sample page shows the graphic text box’s output settings.

Nope, did not work. That is exactly what I had done before but it shows up as a solid white box every time under Preview. The only thing that has worked was Keith’s approach of making it a PNG and changing the colors to Millions.

Thanks for this discussion. The PNG file type / millions has solved a
problem I had getting translucent Graphic text floating over a
background.

I had thought GIF did 8 bit transparency. Apparently not!
First time in my life, wrong again!!

Thanks again Keith

I am trying to float a semi-transparent text box on top of another
graphic (photo) so the photo shows through a bit. I have done the
text box as a layer and set it a anywhere between 25-40% opacity,
yet on page preview it shows up as a solid color.

To produce this effect you have two options:

Option 1)
Option 2)

Any help?
