Trouble putting HTML tet over a graphic

I am trying to put html text on top of a colored graphic box (like a call-out box), but when I do, the text box cuts through the graphic, showing the background of the page.

How do I put html text on top of a graphic and allow the color of the graphic to show through?

Sorry, figured it out. I clicked the layer button.
Gee, I sure wish the tutorials would just say that!

It might be that the tutorial said to work with CSS layers switched
on at the start - don’t know. If that’s required then it should say
so at some point, absolutely.

Working with layers brings a whole new set of abilities and
limitations… it sounds like it worked well here, but in the long
run it will be worth exploring the implications of working in the two
different modes, and of mixing modes.

(There’s nothing wrong with any of these options, but they do
produce different code output which can behave differently in certain
browsers. Particularly with Internet “thrice-damned” Explorer.)

Still did not work

I am still getting the situation where the backgroundcolor is showing through a graphic box. I remember clicking “layer” one other time to gix this, but I do not see it now on the list of options.
