Some things you might want to try…

Check that you have enough free space on the hard drive that you’re
trying to save to. (You never know!)

Try Save As and give it a new name.

If you have another storage medium, even a USB memory stick, try
saving it to that.

One other possible way out, although something of a last resort as
you may have to remake lots of links:

01 Make a new Freeway document, then delete the single page that’s in
the main section of the Site panel. Click the now-pageless folder
icon in the Site panel.

02 Go back to your problem document and select the first page of your
site in the Site panel. Ignore the Master pages, go for the regular
pages for now.

03 Copy. This can take a few seconds or more if there’s much on the page.

04 Click over to your new Freeway document and paste. The page you
copied should arrive safe and sound as a new regular page, although
links will be missing.

05 Save the new document.

06 If you find that you can’t save the new document you’ve found a
page with a problem. Delete that page from the new document, save,
and try the next from your original document.

07 If you have uncopied pages in the original document then go back to 02

08 Breathe sigh of relief, then start the process of remaking your
links. You may want to think about remaking master page elements as
you go. (Delete the item from all but one page, then cut from there
and paste into the Master to have them reappear everywhere as proper
master page items.)

I got the same error message, it comes when I add new pictures on my website. It doesn’t come with text.
The error comes with freeway 5.5 as well as with 7. It has got something to do with the pictures, but I can’t find out.
The idea of saving it on an other hard drive or giving it an other name didn’t work.
The freeway support couldn’t help me too … the solution of copying and pasting the whole site finally works, thanks for your description, but maybe someone found out an easier way?

I had this issue many times (in FW7 only) and it was never resolved. The only solution to not lose work is copy paste everything out of your current site/document into a new one. Or - Revert to saved - if you save frequently.

There is no Auto-Save in FW so if you work for hours without saving you are at risk.

I also suggest saving in multiple, progressive revisions, rather than saving over the original document It might take more drive space, but if you ever get stuck you won’t have to go all the way back to zero.

Lastly, do report this to Softpress if it happens repeatedly.

Yes, of course I use that (and Chronosync) as well - but it’s a pain to have to dive into TM versus just opening a previous saved revision. Besides the obvious backup copies, it’s also good for quickly referencing past design elements one might recycle into new sites sometimes.
