type of field - FormsToGo

I am going to attempt my first form with FTG and I was wondering what type of field do I select in FWP? I have a fields that will have a list - one is numeric value 1-12 and the other is text options. In FWP, do I insert a Menu/List Item or do I just make it text and then allow FTG to further alter the settings of this field?

Beatrice,

To be honest I am not really sure what you want to do here… but if
it is to offer the user the option of selecting a number between 1 and
12 it might be best to add this option using a menu list element and
then use 1 as the Value and 1 as the Choice, 2 as the Value and then 2
as the Choice etc. through to 12. Using a field is not really the way
to go on this if I understand correctly what you are asking.

What you describe is what I started with. The confusion comes in when I load up FormsToGo and start the field validation process. There are options there to add those values (either as a numeric range or as a list option). So what takes priority?

If I have the list created in FWP, some of the validation options in FTG are not available. Which app is going to give me greater flexibility in creating these options? And the least amount of headaches to modify them?

Sorry but I actually haven’t used FTG, I thought you where asking the
best way to present this option to your users and so I suggested the
menu list.

The other option you have is the PHP easiForm action which would avoid
the issue you are asking about but your hosting company would need to
compatible with ioncube.

There are a few users here that use FTG, so if that is how you want to
go I am sure one of them will pipe up before too long.

Thanks Mike. I have easiForm I use on another site. I wanted to give FTG a shot and see what I liked better.

I’ll hang out and wait for a FTG user to chime in.
