Upload problems

I am using FreewayPro4.3.1 I had been using it successfully with easy uploads. I did an upgrade to the site by saving a copy of the Freeway file, re-naming it v6, and doing the upgrades on that file. At the same time, in the Site file column on the left, I combined a lot of stray pages into folders that I created to clean up the column. I then published the site and tried to upload it. The file is only 22MB with 205 items. It uploads a few and then freezes. I eventually get a message that "It can’t finish uploading because the FTP server is not responding. with a code -26101.329.1201. My host is GoDaddy. They ran tests and said that everything is fine on their end and there must be something wrong with my FTP program. I was able to upload individual files from their site one at a time. OY! Can anyone help with this or point me to a discussion document where it has been addressed? Thanks.

In the Upload dialog, there is a checkbox labeled Passive Mode. If it is checked, un-check it. If it is not checked, check it. Whenever there are upload problems, that’s the first thing to try.

Another thing to try (and this might be more likely, since you have made really sweeping changes in your site structure) is to use a different tool, like Transmit, to empty out the entire site folder on your Web server. Then upload again from Freeway. There may be permissions problems with individual files or folders on your server, and Freeway may be running aground on those. A clean folder means one less thing to fuss with before uploading new.

Walter,
Thank you, thank you! I had always been uploading with the passive mode unchecked and that had always worked. I checked it and everything uploaded!

Should I leave it checked from now on?

By the way, at Go-Daddy’s suggestion, I tried to move all my files on the server into a non-root folder and then tried to upload the whole thing again, but it didn’t work. Your suggestion saved the day, though. Thanks again
