Hi everyone,
I have a form which uses a cgi script to send the info in the form to me as an email. (I know nothing about CGI, I just used the parameters that my isp gave me). but now I’d like to give a user the opportunity to attach a file with the form. Ideally, the file would be an attachment to the email I get. My ISP has not been any help. They refrred me to formmail (from Matt’s Scripts Archive), but using CGI is beyond me. Is there a simple way to do this? The URL is: http://penandpaw.com/ideas.html
It starts to get complicated attaching files to forms. But for a fairly easy solution try http://www.troubleticketexpress.com/ its free software, but the files attachment script is $9.95. It does mean some setting up, and the form is not in Freeway, and you need to have PHP available.
The basic version of this script is available on our web hosting service.

It doesn’t send the file as an attachment but will send you a notification email with their comments and a link to where the file is stored on your server. You can limit file sizes and types and is quite easy to set up. Though it is separate from the Freeway files.
If you want to see it in action in its basest form send me an email and I will send you a link back so you can try it in a real world test.
I will then forward you the email that is generated so you can see the result.
I have been using Forms to Go, which handles files as well as a
boatload of form stuff. It has been very helpful to me for making
custom forms for a wide variety of projects. I use the PHP version,
which is nice as it gives me good code start if I need to “tweak”
things further. http://www.bebosoft.com/products/formstogo/
