Uploaded text wrong on Yahoo hosting

I uploaded my site onto my yahoo hosting and many of the text boxes are completely wrong. However on freeway everything is correct and everything is correct when I preview it with Safari. Once it is uploaded I get something completely different on the web. Help!!!

Post a link so that we can see what you are talking about. And tell us what we are supposed to see.

I am on safari and under the first pillow it should say “1 Pillow with Flange, Piping and Decorations” as it does when I preview it on safari.

When I refresh it it keeps changing:

I will sometimes get the correct text under the first pillow, small text under the second pillow and a different picture alltogether for the third pillow. Then it will go back but it is never completely correct.

It does not correct even if I empty the cache.

That is exactly what I see in Safari. However, this is graphic text. When I look at this in Firefox the text looks stretched horizontally but it is all still there.

Have you tried refreshing the page and get different results? I get an orange pillow for the third pillow then I will get the witch pillow which is the right one. It changes every time I refresh the page.

It is as you describe in FF 3.0.3 and Safari 3.1.2 but as Chucka says you are using graphic text - have you applied the same style to all the captions?

Why not use HTML text and style it nicely with a consistent style across all captions.

BTW - nothing changes on refresh.

Could it have something to do with my files on the yahoo hosting not being completely overwritten with the new ones??? since I get everything correct when I only preview it on a browser.

You aren’t going mad - I am seeing it too!

I would be tempted to clean out the server with Transmit or similar and then reupload.

Is there any way to get Freeway to completely erase and then reload all files. Right now when I try to upload again it goes super fast as it is not overwriting anything.

You could change a style - this would then dirty all the pages and reupload them all - but wont necessarily do anything with your images.

You could also hold down the Ctrl Key do a File>Publish Everything and then reupload.

But the best way is to go into the server with Transmit or similar and clear out with it.

At the end of the day I think that this is a server cacheing issue

I think that I would be asking my hosting provider whats going on.

I agree, this is definitely happening server side. If you right click
on the graphic text and choose “Open in new Window/Tab” and start
refreshing the image it will also change.

The only thing you can really do is get on to Yahoo support to find
out what’s happening or switch providers.

Thanks all for your help. I complained to Yahoo Web Hosting. They never wrote back but they seemed to fix the server problem because I checked my site this morning and it was fixed once I refreshed the pages in my browser. Hurray~!

I would imagine that they did nothing at all. What you are probably seeing is the natural result of whatever cacheing system they use deciding its cache was “stale” and refreshing it from the source.
