URL redirection / google searches

Good afternoon,

redirected to the new site.

the old site is top of google searches -and we want to have the new
site up in the google searches

Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Thank you

the old site is top of google searches

When searching for what?

If it is a very site specific search then of course it will be right up there but if you are searching for Childrens daycare how does it fare then?

Exactly my point!

So if folk know what they are looking for they will find you.

What you have to do is make the site more SEO friendly for everybody so that a search for Daycare in Hamburg NY will put you at No1

So I dont think that you need to worry too much about URL redirection from the old site. But if you have any control over the content there then there are various things that you can do to get folk to the new site but I think what is more important is getting new people/searchers to the new site.
