Use Showcase to generate thumbnails only

Good afternoon — I would like to use Showcase to generate thumbnails only so I can use those images to link to a lightbox via Scripty Lighbox or Spawn New window… I am converting a site to FWP and want to replicate the aciton you get at the page below after you select any of the wildlife images…
http://zscapes.com/zcwildlife.html

I want to stay away from using a table and having to build thumbs for all of my images… Any thoughts asnd thanks in advance…

Using Showcase seems a very convoluted way of creating thumbs.

I am assuming that you have the original images.

I would draw a graphic container on my page the size that you want the thumbs to be and apply the ScriptyLightbox2 or 3 action to it. Set your parameters in the SLB action interface including the Original File (image in your case).

Import your image into the thumb graphic container and then use Item>Graphic>Scale and pad.

Now you can duplicate this image as many times as required horizontally to get a row of thumbs.

Then select the whole row and duplicate vertically as many times as required to get as many rows as required.

Now select each image in turn and first import the correct image to create the thumb and then set the correct image as the Original File.

If you have all the original images in 1 folder inside your Media folder (make copies of the originals for in there) then you can work through each thumb in turn and it will be a pretty quick process.

Thank you very much… That makes a ton of sense and simplifies the process… I like how Showcase adds the image title to the thumbs and why I asked the quesiton… I appreciate the feedback from the core of frewway pros that support this site and my hats off to you all… Your advise and just following all the threads has hleped me learn a lot about FWP… z
