w3 validation

Just how important is it to have your site validated - on one of my recent efforts it throws up a few warnings. But I also tried a few pages from the experts from this community which also threw up quite a few warnings. I wouldn’t even know what they mean and how to correct them. Obviously, in a perfect world your site would also be perfect - but should one be obsessed by a clear rating in w3?

I wouldn’t say you should be obsessed, but if you start noticing tricky problems – something that looks correct in one browser and fails in others, or vice-versa, then you want to make sure you validate the page first, before you start chasing your tail. Validation is like brushing your teeth before you go to the dentist.
