Thanks Thomas. Very helpful, I’ve used Google web fonts which works very well, but just thought I would try the FW Webfont Action as it was available.
Thanks DTP2: I was aware of Caxton, just happened to use Google first.

Hi K,
the google webfonts looking so promising but I ran into a few troubles that I can’t declare myself - so I stopped this (it might be collisions between the system fonts and the google one probably), but I think these where all my mistakes.
The funny thing here:
The FONT’s had been displayed in Safari and Fox but not in Google Chrome - funny isn’t it?
What is your experience with it? Could you share some more infos so I should renew my tests?
I used Caxton as well, but I had problems with it, too. Here as well I’m seeking the mistakes on my site.
All in all Tim’s WebFonts was the “just-work” yet.
Cheers

Well, so far Google webfonts have been pretty good, but just come across an issue where there are 4 styles in the family and only one is previewing. Fine in FWay, displaying correct weights, but preview in browser or FWay and just the one style is showing.

I’m going to give this a try. How do you build a font set in Freeway Pro?

but it is nothing more than:
- grab a font pair containing ttf(otf) and eot
- Install the font ttf(otf) on your system so freeway is recognizing it
- Build a new Font-Set within Freeway
- Apply the action to HTML Text and apply there the font pair ttf(otf) and eot
- Use your new Font-Set as the others to see how the Font looks like
- Publish
and you should be done.

I have been very happy using GoogleFonts until a line spacing/leading issue cropped up. I am building a site using Josefin Sans and Slab which look correct in preview and on the web viewed on a Mac. But when I saw it on a PC the leading had increased substantially. Not to much of an issue when used in a boxframe as the box expands to accomodate the text but I had to revert to Verdana it in the carousels which of course do not expand. The Verdana line space was not a problem. The site being built is http://www.paroles-paroles.fr/ but I am going to have to look at a few others which employ google fonts. I will see what happens if I use the same font with Tim’s Action

Hi Richard,
do you mean the line-height if you talk about spacing? So I’d normally recommend you to do:
Choose your style (via edit, styles) and hit extended and type:
line-height (name)
1.5 (value) for eg. 150%
Did a say normally? Yes - cause I thought I did a trillion times before as a just work but recognized that:
This is not visible in the Freeway document construction anymore, but absolutely visible in the preview (browser-view whatever …)
Hmmm - could probably the softpress-towers have a look in this? Or do I miss here something?
Cause I remember Walter warned me decades ago to use “percentage” could cause some problems on PC stuff for whatever reason.
Cheers
