Webpage on a big screen

It might be a strange question but…

I need to build a new website. It will be shown on a high definition touch screen. In portrait mode. Very large. What is the best size for the page? Does it make sense to make the page larger than usual? Thanks for your help.

If you can find out the dimensions of the target display in pixels, you will know how large to build your site. First of all, even the hugest TV screen in the world is still showing a TV signal, so 720px wide for normal def, 1028 for HD. That’s smaller (in pixels) than many laptops, let alone desktop displays. They’re just really big pixels.
