WebYep adding images?

I’m looking for a simple cms for an artist’s website, and WebYep looks great. However, as this is an artist’s site, the main thing my client needs to do is ADD new images to the site, not delete or replace existing images. Essentially she needs to enlarge a gallery by adding more images. Is there a way to do this in WebYep, and if not, is there another way my client could do this herself, rather than have to come to me whenever she wants to make an addition? Thanks!

Oh, and MojoMotor http://mojomotor.com/

Thanks, Todd. As I suspected, what I’m asking for may require some pretty funky fiddling with things that may be more hassle than it’s worth. Still, even if it doesn’t work for me this time, Mojomotor looks pretty sweet!

Hi Derek,
Pulse has a built in image gallery and is simple enough to get up and
running quickly.

Regards,
Tim.

Hi,

I sometimes wonder that a thread called “Adding images with WebYep” is answered with:

Use Pulse or Mojo or whatever.

Now if it is of interest:

WebYep Image Action

WebYep Gallery Action (example)

http://www.kimmich-dm.de/extras/wy-gallery.php

or even WebYep-Rich Text Action has the possibilities to build a Gallery. Some things might be tricky, but I don’t see any need to stay away from WebYep.

Good point. It is also possible to use WebYep repeat loops to let the
client add and reorder content as much as they like, within the
layout structure that you create. And with Max’s WebYep actions for
Freeway this is very easy to set up.

(Although I’d steer clear of doing a full gallery through the Rich
Text action…

Because options are good and there may be other people besides Derek
who might not be aware of yet interested in alternative solutions.
WebYep is great but it’s not the only option either. Plus Derek seemed
to appreciate the suggestions from Tim and myself.

To be pedant, Todd (and not personally to you),

the following was to me the core of the request:

Options are good, agree to 100% - but a simple new thread (list) called “What CMS Sytems do you know and which one is good to use?” would cover this aspect much more.

Think of those reading this in a few months.

Question: Is there a way to do?

Answer: Use Mojo or Pulse

Conclusion: So there is no way to do!

And this would be the wrong one.

Todd, believe me, I learned to love Freewaytalk - but sometimes I could just shout out S***, when a list is not proper discussed from the beginning to the end, relating on what is primary asked.

Ah - for all of those who start a list just hacking in “How can I do this in Freeway” should be suspended for at last 4 weeks - isn’t it?

Cheers

I always appreciate anyone who takes a little of their time to help me out, thus the thanks.

So Thomas, are you saying that there exist a WebYep Image Action and a WebYep Gallery Action? Are they part of the WebYep suite? I’m not seeing a detailed explanation of what’s in the WY suite on the developer’s page.

Yes Derek - indeed they exist and they are part of the suite.

The learning curve of WebYep quick increases and it’s no secret, that I fill content of my entire page more or less totally via webyep.

The Freeway-page construction is more or less a skeleton. The idea behind is, that I can work “quick and dirty” when it comes to an example to built as result of a request here (like the gallery example) and quick add to it.

I recommend it cause it’s familar to Freeway, Max’s support is great and it was easy to understand even for me not coming from the “code side of life”.

And of course a lot of helping hands here in Freewaytalk.

Perfect! Obviously I prefer to integrate a cms via an action, and now that there appears to be a WebYep gallery action, everything seems to be sorted. Thanks!

Hi Thomas

Sorry, I’ve been away on holiday, and see that you’ve taken down your sample gallery page. Do you have another example of the WebYep gallery anywhere? I’d like to show it to my client. Thanks!
