WebYep for Freeway 5?

Hey Everyone,

I’m using Freeway 5 and love it. (http://www.liasuzuki.com) Over the last few months, I’ve built up quite a collection of articles that I’ve been adding to my site manually from various news sources. I’m not a coder and have no knowledge of php. I’m a massage therapist who doesn’t want to be bothered with too much web work outside my clinic hours.

It’s gotten away from me now so to speak, and I can’t keep up. I’d like to be able to add article text and have the titles show up in my drop down menus automatically. From what I’ve read about WebYap, it looks like that’s the program I need. Yes…? Also, on the WebYap site, it talks about being compatible with Freeway 4. Does anyone have experience using it with Freeway 5?

Thanks in advance.

Lia

I’ve used WebYep and Freeway Pro 5.

Here’s a site I recently did with this combo. The pages ‘Voss’ Style’, ‘Comments’, and ‘Bookings’ all have WebYep elements, and they all seem to be working very well.

I also used Max’s actions for WebYep and Freeway (http://www.max-izzat.co.uk/)

Hi Lia I have just seen this post after having a few days off so hence the delay.
The way to do this is to use a secondary webyep menu on the Freeway page to breakdown the articles in to manageable junks. Then in this way you could add categories and sub catagories visually it would look similar to this forum where you have a list on the left indicating different categories and then a main block in the middle of the page.

In the middle block you would create a webyep area using webyep items such as webyep text, images, links, downloads in fact what ever your articles needed.

Finally you would wrap these item parts in a WebYep loop and the result of this one loop set, on one freeway page is that you could make hundreds of articles on dozens of pages and all of them could be edited shuffled around and deleted if they become outdated via a normal browser window with no need to republish from Freeway.

If you need any other info just let me know

As far as compatibility goes its fine with 5… Though in the next few days I will be sending out an update version of the suite to all the people that have previously payed for the action. This new to be released version allows for pop-up windows similar in function to Freeways built in popup window action. The Dutch translation has been sorted, plus all the code output has been adjusted to match the Dreamweaver plugin, so now if you opened the freeway output in Dreamweaver the DW plugin would recognise the code correctly and keep the settings.

kind regards max

Hmmm… That’s a lot for me to try to envision… Are there such things as “trial version plug-in’s”? If so, is there one for Freeway WebYep? Or should I download the DW trial version on your site and upload to my server…?

Thanks for taking the time to lead such a newbie through this…

Hi lisa
if you look at this example
http://www.max-izzat.co.uk/extended_features/club.php
you can click on the menu on the left which changes the main content
This example is fairly basic but you can see how the idea works
you can download the lowres manual from my site. This describes how to use loops and menus
The Plug-in for Dreamweaver from OBD is free to download, but unfortunately there is no demo version of the Freeway Plug-in.

Hi Max,

So I could have a series of carousels being presented in this fashion?

Cheers,

Hi Rob
well yes and I think you might be be able to… well it’s a tentative yes …
what would need to happen is you would create the menu say with 4 different sections though it could be as many as you want and then this would then create a fresh instant of the main webyep block.

Now that main block could contain DIV’s with webyep image inside them and because they a webyep items then each page the menu creates would contain a new carosel with unique webyep images… now I am having to guess here as I haven’t used the carosel yet but it may work
