WebYep problem

I am using WY Image 4 to display images on a page.

When the image is clicked it opens a new window with the image at full size but with no scrollbars so you cannot see the whole image.

I am sure this is a simple configuration issue but it is not obvious to me where I have gone wrong. I have the image set to display as a thumbnail and with fixed width and height. Hyperlink:none

This is an image that is supposed to be printed at A4 so I don’t want to alter the final image size.

Hi Dave
If you set WebYep image thumbnail to true the original Item will not be rescaled but a thumbnail will be created from it. The actual popup will contain the image you uploaded without any rescaling so if its a big image say something like A4 at 300dpi then thats what webyep is going to try and show (though most servers have a file upload size limit).
If you did not want to resize the end image to a more web friendly size, then I wouldnt do it with thumbnails.
What I would do is create a gallery and popup windows with loops and on those popup windows I would have webyep download elements so the end result would be exactly the same in thart you clicked on a thubnail, this would iturn open a window but on this occasion below the larger image there would be a download link to download the full size image.
You can create multiple thumbnails with multiple pages with dozens and and dozens of popups all from 1 Feeway page, 1 loop item, 1 popup window and 1 webyep menu.

If you are interested in this method I will see if I have an example for you to look at

Hi Dave I thought I did have something like this and even though the example is old and I have refined the method by using the new webyep loop on an item action, the basic structure is the same. Except you only need 1 Pop-up page in freeway and 1 image within the loop item instead of three. Have a read of how it works. To see if it makes sense to you
this is the quick tutorial…

and here is a working example though the popups are not populated

OK Max tell me if this is correct please

On my main page I have 2 WY4 images (105x148px) Fieldnames (thumbnaila and thumbnailb) Global: True, Thumbnail: False, Scale Image Fixed width and height. Link: popup1 and popup2

On my popup1 - Fieldname thumbnaila, (448x638px) Thumbnail: False, Global: True, Scale Image Fixed width and height.

popup2 - Fieldname thumbnailb, (448x638px) Thumbnail: False, Global: True, Scale Image Fixed width and height.

So with these settings the pics that are uploaded on the main page are scaled to fit my image boxes and the same images are then used on my popup pages to display at a larger size - or am I misinterpreting.

I am only getting small images on the popup pages so I must be doing something wrong.

Hi Dave
what it should be is all globals to false. You will have to populate each pop up but in reality thats not really a problem because you need to place a webyep download link and populate it for your print ready item on the popup window, so while you populate that item you will also be uploading your larger version of your thumbnail to. If it doesn’t make sense then send me your freeway artwork and I will adjust it and test it and send it back.

…a webyep download link.

I can’t find reference to this one - is it one of the standard ones 1-10? Or is something I need to create myself?

HI Dave its all standard
if you look at a the webyep image items they should be set to global false within the action palette. In basic terms you place a webyep image within a loop then this image triggers a popup window (which is a different page) as my example and on that popup widow is another webyep image which you will need to be populated with the same image but this time it will be at a larger size and then below the larger image will be a webyep download file so people can can download a very large file of the same image.

Because the original item (The small one on the main page) is in a loop you can now can create rows and rows of images that fire unique popup windows. And finally if you did need to have multiple pages within this gallery you can add a webyep menu which would allow you to have multiple pages which would contain rows and rows of small images and each one would trigger a unique popup with its larger image and the corresponding unique download. The only thing once constructed you have to do is populate the items as this is not done automatically.

If this still isn’t working for you let me know and if you send me over what you would like the gallery to look like and I will construct an example.
