What's the best way to do registered marks

I have a lot of html text with registered marks or copyright marks in. What’s the best way of doing them ?
At the moment i’m using the ‘Html markup’ item and using the code ‘®’ It works well, yet uses the same size as the text and looks too big, can it be smaller and shifted up as normal ?

Thanks,
Paul

First of all, Freeway will magically turn the typesetter’s mark into
an HTML entity if needed. UTF-8 does not require you to encode
that character, only if you are using one of the non-Unicode character
sets will you have to worry about that, and Freeway will always take
care of it for you. Simply use the same keyboard shortcut you would
use in any Mac application: Option-R. You will see the character typed
in your Freeway document and on your page in any browser.

Second, if you want to make the registered mark superscript and
smaller (so it doesn’t look like a horse kicked your type), you’ll
need to make a special style for that. Select one of your registered
marks and change the Style / Shift menu to +1. That gets it elevated
above the line. Now change the font size to something smaller to make
it look like a proper (small) superscript mark. Look in your Styles
palette and you’ll see a new temporary style (style34 or similar)
that’s highlighted in the list. If you Control-click on it and choose
“Edit Style” from the contextual menu, you can give it a more
memorable name, like superscript. Now simply apply that style to any
registered mark you encounter in your text.

There’s another way to do this in traditional HTML which I prefer, but
can’t see how to get Freeway to do. There is an actual tag called
which is precisely for this purpose. It has the semantic
meaning “this text is superscript” which my first suggestion does not.
What you would do is surround the (r) with a pair of sup tags, and
then in your CSS you could make the sup tag appear any way you like.

Excellent !
Thanks Walter, for the moment i’ve added your sup /sup into my html markup that i’ve been using.

Works a treat on mac and pc.

I shall try the other way when i have time.

Thank you
