Why flash is slow in IE

Hi all,

I don’t know why a small flash file (I think it’s small) is so slow in Explorer.
It works OK on Safari, Firefox.
If someone has access to IE please check:

Thanks for any help,

Emilio,

I have Windows XP running under Parallels. I tried it on both IE6 and FF3. Under IE6 it had a noticeable lag in the animation. But not under FF3. In both instances, and Safari on OSX, it went to almost 100% cpu utilization. I know almost nothing about Flash so can’t offer any suggestions.

Editorially speaking, such animation and cpu usage is not the way to engender good will amongst potential customers visiting the site. Animation such as this is one of the primary reasons I generally block Flash.

Your loaded file size is 8.4kb which is super tiny.

What program did you use to make it?

If you say Flash, don’t forget the version number.

and how many fps did you use. I know IE is (or was) limited to 100fps.

Thanks for your responses.
It is done on Flash CS3 (9.0) and is 24 fps.

Since is so demanding on the CPU I am trying to replace it with a snapshot of the fireworks, anybody knows how to do that, how to capture when they blow up?

Thanks,
Emilio

Found the answer to the snapshot.
Change the fps to 1 and using Shift-Command-4-Space capture the window.

Couldn’t be easier.

Thanks to all,
Emilio
