Wrapping text around a sliced image

Either it’s not possible or am missing something completely? How can you place a sliced image of different widths stacked on top of each other in a text box and wrap the text around it? Or can you wrap text around a single image using a path perhaps to wrap in a funky line? This is driving me crazy. Thank you!

I’m pretty sure you can’t do this directly. You could do a sort of pseudo-stacking with three or more inline images, but they would definitely drift apart if the font size changed.

But do the images need to be sliced? You could try putting the image on a layer, then putting the HTML text above that in another layer, and use left margin on the text to make the indent. Imagine if these two ASCII-grams were stacked one above the other:

+-------+

| +--------+

+----------------+

+---------------------------+
         text text text t
         text text text t
         text text text t
         text text text t
         text text text t
                  text te
                  text te
                  text te
+---------------------------|

If you’re looking at this in Mail, you’ll have to change the text to a monospaced font like Consolas or Courier to see what’s going on there.

That’s been my problem, the images have been drifting and misaligning when I try and wrap anything. The image does not need to be sliced, it was just what my only option was I thought. I could easily put the image under a text box. It’s a person standing profile so I wanted the text to wrap around the body instead of in a straight vertical line. Also the image has to be right aligned. Would I do the same thing you’re suggesting in that case as well? Thank you!

Paul Dunning made an Action years ago that could do this sort of trick. Have a look on ActionsWorld.com – I have not idea if this is compatible with FW6, though.

His Action worked perfectly! The best $15 I’ve even spent! LOL
