My DNS host is under attack, and this has been happening for a couple of days. If you want to set your own DNS record to work around this, do the following:
In Terminal, type ‘sudo nano /etc/hosts’ and press Return. Enter your user password when prompted.
Press the down-arrow as many times as it takes to reach the bottom of the text.
Type dscacheutil -flushcache and then press Return.
You may need to restart your browser after this. This will give you a static DNS lookup that will not be affected by storms on the net. Remember, though, I may move servers at some point, and this record will no longer be accurate.
At the moment, I am able to look up this host without trouble (and without the hosts file hack) but this may be a lull in the DDoS storm.

Apparently since the mind-numbingly massive and internet-slowing attack against Spamhaus and Cloudflare a couple months ago there’s been a surge of DDoS-style attacks, big and small.
