In Freeway I used to be able to rename style sheets and if I remember correctly, create custom style sheets. Is that a feature that might be added in a future update? Also, the old link inspector was very useful, will that be added to Xway at any future time?
Hi Bert,
We do plan to have an option to publish external style sheets.
When you say “old link inspector”, do you mean Freeway’s Edit URLs dialog?
There was a way to view the links in and out for any page. I don’t remember what it was called.
Oh, the Link Map.
It’s interesting that you found it useful, because the general view within Softpress was that it wasn’t very useful (we actually considered removing it).
I’ve logged your comment as a feature request.
The reason it was useful for me is that my site changes frequently, and I wanted to be sure that before I removed a page from the site it did not cause a broken link from another page. I used it all the time.
Thanks for explaining why you found it useful.
One thing that we definitely do want to add is a way to check for empty links. In Xway, if you link to a page, and subsequently delete that page, the original link ends up pointing to nowhere (nothing happens if you click on it).
I have seen how Xway handles links no longer working, which is fine, but some of my pages may have text indicating a link amd I always want to make sure that they are ether removed or corrected when the destination id deleted or changed, so a link map or similar feature would be very helpful to me.
That’s what I mean by adding a way to check for empty links: this should allow you to find links that no longer go anywhere and remove or correct them. We have an issue logged on this.
