Zoom Text Only?

Hi

I have been following the latest Swimmer35 thread in which Paul brings up the issue of text enlargement breaking up pages. I am aware that the box model can resolve this but as Paul says, it is not intuitive.

I worry a little about two sites I have built as a FW rookie just using the regular blank template and laying out as I would in Indesign. Which suits my haphazard manner of working. Whilst so far I have have received no complaints, and they have both been running for over a year, I am beginning wonder what others may see. Do browser users in general have ‘zoom text only’ ticked. And if they do use it are they shocked or just say “blimey I should not have done that”

In general I have found that most of the computer users I come across are not even aware that they can zoom in either of the options. So - Should I worry?

Out of interest if anyone has the time to look at the sites - http://www.corneliedejong.nl and http://www.safarisun.co.uk - and see anything else bad or just naff do say as I am currently revising both of them.

Best wishes

Richard

Presumably then not a question which is of much concern, or did I pick the wrong day to ask?

Re your site Julie the comments you are eliciting on the original thread I am in agreement with and should be enough to keep you going for a while. You have a talent for getting the forum guys tapping at their keyboards.

Hi Richard,

The first site is mainly photographic and the pages that do have text
increase in size nicely (they’re table based, a bulletproof way of
making that so). The second site is perfectly fine, and, while text
does overlap, if it hasn’t caused a problem in a year then I wouldn’t
worry about redoing it.

Hope this helps,

Joe

Thanks Joe, I feel reassured and will continue as before for the present (but promise to reread all about layers, tables and boxes)

Have a good weekend
